Shipping within the UK is by Royal Mail 48 hour service.

Delivery is currently free for all UK orders.

Your order should arrive within 2 to 5 working days, subject to the goods being in stock.

If for any reason delivery or shipping is delayed, you will be advised of a new expected delivery date by email. 

Please also note that should your order be held at Customs, delivery will be delayed also.

Any taxes/duty penalties incurred in your own country are your responsibility, we are unable to cover these costs.

UK Next Day

A Next Day guaranteed delivery service is available subject to the goods being in stock. 

Next day orders placed before 5pm will be delivered the next working day.

There is a £6 charge for this service.

Returning or exchanging an item

If for any reason you are not happy with your purchase, you may return any items within 30 days of receipt.

To be eligible for returns or exchanges, please note the following criteria: 

- Purchased less than 30 days ago

- Must have original receipt

- Has not been washed, worn or altered

- Remains in the original packaging with all tags attached

Returns and exchanges must adhere to the above criteria otherwise the item will be considered un-fit for resale and will not be accepted by our returns department.

How do I make a return?

Carefully package the items you are returning in the original packaging to keep them safe in transit. Make sure to include a note or the packing slip included in your original order with your name, order number and whether you would like a refund for the items returned or an exchange.

We recommend obtaining proof of postage for your return. 
Please allow up to 2 days for your return to be processed. Once we receive your return package we will contact you to inform you of your exchanges being shipped or the refunded credit being processed.


Exchanges need to adhere to the same criteria as returns listed above. Make sure to note exactly what you would like to exchange the item returned for. Once we receive your return package, we will email you and if necessary refund you any difference in price. Your exchange will then be posted out to you. 

If you purchased items using a discount code or promotion we are happy to honour the same code again for an even exchange (new colour or size in the same item), just contact us via email or call us on 01977 701261. 


- We do not currently offer free shipping for returns back to us and we cannot take responsibility for the cost of returning your items.

- Shipping charges on your original order are not refundable.

Cancellation and Returns Policy

We will be happy to exchange or give you a refund on online purchases, providing the goods are returned with all tags intact within 30 days, upon receipt of the unwanted items.

This does not affect your statutory rights.

We cannot, unfortunately, offer a refund or exchange on postage costs, gift boxes or on items that have been worn, unless the product is found to be faulty. 

Any free gifts issued with an order, as part of any offers run by Affair Lingerie, will need to be returned in their original packaging if the items purchased are later returned for a full refund. Failure to do so will result in the value of the gift being deducted from your refund. If the gift does not have a value on the order it does not need to be returned.

Fitting Your Bra

There is no exact science to fitting a bra, as each bra fits differently. However, we can give you some helpful hints about checking your own bra fit:

  • The main support comes from the back strap and the side of the bra, therefore it’s important that the bra should be firm, but comfortable. When turned sideways to a mirror, the strap should be horizontal and not ride up at the back.
  • The wires should sit comfortably under the bust and lie flat against the rib cage, not raised in the centre (this indicates the cup size is too small).
  • Remember to adjust the shoulder straps; they should rest gently on the shoulders, they should not provide the support for the cups.
  • Both breasts should be fully enclosed by the cups of the bra, no bulging at the sides nor at the top of the cups; merely a smooth line (even when wearing a balconette or plunge-style bra).
  • Try your outer clothes on with your new bra to see the shape it gives you.

Q. How can I avoid my bra straps digging into my shoulders?

A. Check your bra is firm across your back as this is where you will get most of the support. Also see that your cup fitting is large enough to accomodate your bust.

Q. My bra pulls to one side. It is fine when I first put it on but becomes uncomfortable as it seems to twist. Any suggestions?

A. The chances are you have one side slightly larger than the other. It is important to fit the bigger side first. Also check your underband is firm enough across the back.

Q. The back of my bra does not stay level with the front. How can I avoid this?

A. Try going down a size across the back and up one size in the cup. It is also worth checking your cup size is not too small as this would not help.

Q. How can I prevent the wires coming out of my bras when they are washed?

A. Do not put them in the washing machine. If bras are washed at too high a temperature the casing around the wires can shrink which will cause the wires to push out.

Q. My bra leaves a ridge at the back under more fitted tops. How can I avoid this?

A. If your bra does not feel tight you could try a bra which is slightly higher under your arms or a deeper band at the back for more support.

Care Instructions

When investing time and money into buying high quality, correctly fitting lingerie, you want to keep them looking good and doing their job for as long as possible.

Therefore, we recommend that you always follow the care label advice.

  • Whilst some of the lingerie we offer is machine washable, most is hand wash only. We know it is tempting to machine wash, however manufacturers strongly recommend that you don't where the care label specifies this.  
  • Machine washing causes Lycra to degrade quicker and Lycra is important for keeping that firm support.
  • Delicate laces and embroideries will last longer if washed gently by hand.
  • Wires, hooks and eyes may cause damage to your washing machine.

We appreciate that this is a little more time-consuming, but it’ll definitely be worth it.

Post Mastectomy

What bra should I have for immediately after surgery?

We recommend a cotton bra that is soft against the skin and front fastening. Pockets may also feature, to hold your initial soft textile breast form in place. Having the right bra immediately after surgery will allow you to heal, accommodate swelling and feel comfortable.

When should I consider getting my first bra fitting after surgery?

Six to eight weeks is generally recommended before you consider your initial fitting in order to allow your body plenty of healing time although it is important that you take advice from your breast care nurse or consultant. If you are having a fitting for a prosthesis or breast form, we recommend that you purchase at least one bra beforehand, the better your bra fits you, the easier it is to fit the right prosthesis/breast form.

How much should I expect to pay for a mastectomy bra?

Our mastectomy bras range from around £20-£70 and ladies who have undergone a mastectomy are not required to pay VAT on their post-surgery bras.
